Okay, I must confess to being a member that does engage in the silly more often than some (i.e. Bee Gees Foto Album ;)). So in order to counteract my tendency to go off topic and be ridiculous elsewhere, I thought, why not here ! I'm sure that I remember :? a similar topic on the previous forum!?! Pleeeeeeaaaase feel free to join me  ! I've found I cannot resist discussing this obsession prior to leaving for London, with everyone's help, I hope! It is the song I Don't Think It's Funny, some of you may not be surprised  ! It has stuck with me ever since I had the dream  ! It seems to be the only song I can listen to, over and over! Words that come to mind in describing this song are sweet, whimsical, pure......it reminds me of a balladeer of olde ! I love the simplicity of the, is it a guitar :? , and the lead vocalist has a voice that just drips of honey ! My dilemma is further exacerbated by that leader, it seems to be Robin  , but I've read that it is Barry  ! I'm listening to the version from The Early Years, from Hallmark 2002. It is the CD I picked up at the Pickwick while on the IOM last June! Either way, I continue to conjure up the picture from the Prebendal topic with Robin & the hollyhocks! It has gotten so extreme, I almost asked Avalanche to work her magic and bring it to me with bees, rainbows, & even butterflies    ! No one need remind me that this is a bit crazed  unless she were to feel like doing so  ! I will conclude by saying, I find it entirely funny  and am enjoying every minute of it    .

Appreciate your support and input, Lori , sparki, & everyone :D, LOL!!!!!!! I do try to confine this particular cd to my car  ! I know that this has something to do with reading Dwina's book, as she presents our experience with being so in touch with the natural world (thus the bees, rainbows, & butterflies ) ! It makes one gain more insight and a lot more delight in being human ! As we all know, Robin is a reknowned storyteller :geek: in his own right, but there are just some presentations by the brothers that are all about the sound, and I could name multiple examples! A few would be I Am The World, Come On Over, Love Me, Love Hurts, Words , Please, To Love Somebody, World, I've Gotta Get A Message To You, Saved By The Bell, Run To Me, Emotion, Embrace, Too Much Heaven, Really And Sincerely, How Deep Is Your Love & etc., & etc. :P :P :P ! Whereas, you are not necessarily (although, you could ) going to intellectually :geek: search for the meaning behind these particular entries (we have a category for interpretation ), one is affected at a visceral or spiritual  level! I guess I may be belaboring a concept  that speaks for itself  ! Hopefully  , someone could name particular songs, eyes 8-) , or whatever (in keeping within the rules ;)), they have obsessed over for quite sometime! I have, on occasion, on all of the above, and many more  ! Maybe I should have renamed this category (in my case ) as one to do with spirituality  , but, that might not encompass the entire realm of obsession, and is obviously not ridiculous or silly :D, which I, more often than not, am  . Thanks for listening, and please include your Bee Gee obsessive moments (or days) ! Often times, there is emotional homework  going on in my own life! As in an example I have already mentioned elsewhere, after losing my dear maternal aunt last year, I just couldn't get enough of Love Me ! Bear with me  , I'm sure this has something to do with the anticipation  as well as an obsessive nature  ! Thanks again  !

ive always said music is important to ones emotional state. our local hospital is conducting a research, the participants range in age 35-50,all diagnosed with some type of heart ailment. they are trying to find out if music therapy helps(if i was betting id say yes!)ill let you know what happens. however for me its not just any music that soothes my soul, its the bee gees and im not sure why, except that you hit on a very good thought...their songs come from the heart, yes i believe that, so its like one soul to another! darn it now i wish i had floo powder(see the topic "books")

Hmmm, I must think of playing with that picture now. I can almost see Robin done up as the Green Man playing in his garden. The brick wall might be exchanged for one of the ruined ones on the ground. And he'd be holding a raddish. The bees are adorable My presant Bee Gees related obsession is getting a layout with all four Gibb bros and getting the hands in the right place. Barry's hand will definately be on Andy's heart, thinking of putting Robin's hand on Mo's heart or shoulder but no ideas for Mo's hand. Oh well, it just means looking at more pics of the guys, doesn't it?

Great Job Gabriele! Would you mind sharing your secrets of the trade? Where do you get butterflies and bees without a black or white background??????? That is something I am obsessing about right now

Do you really want to get us into trouble, Ninneke? Susanne ... the bees and butterflies had backgrounds, I removed them. With the right picture program you can do everything. If you enjoy the picture, Bethany, I'm already sufficiently gifted.

Okay, okay, before anyone goes there (rules, ladies, rules :geek:, maybe my name should be BossieSirRobin :? (has a nice moo tone to it :? ), it is my turn to return to obsessing more about meeeeee :?, I mean mooooo   !!!!! I still need to know who all of you think is the lead singer (alas, have I been tricked  ), and is it just a guitar ( :?: ) accompaniment? No need to name the song  ! It just would not do  were I to go to the Unveiling and by some remote possibility, come across you know who  and inquire of him, who sings lead in IDTIF!?! Pleeeeeease  !!!! P.S. How cool 8-) , I just saw your post, Gabriele , and there are no sufficient words or phrases to describe my enjoyment. It IS my dream come true !!! Bossie has jumped over the moon :?......... rainbow. Believe me  , this giddiness is all about anticipation and nothing else  ! I've gone past the tears to another stage  ! Good thing I added the caveat to this topic ! Your hocus pocus wand waving :geek: is way out of my range :| , Gabi, thank you again and again !! : P.P.S. , looks like maybe I did find some words and phrases, if one is inclined to refer to them as such...... :? It appears like I am in some Disneyland/MotherGoose/Barnyard trance  ! Somehow, after all this babbling  , I think :? you are all going to leave me pretty much to my own devices/demises, can't say as I blame you....Hope you still want to meet me Ninnike ! I promise that once I have these answers, I'll be able to keep it all together    !

Meetings can be so much fun, unless you live out in the middle of nowhere I wish I knew what song you're talking about but I'm a bad fan and only have The Record import, Sgt Pepper, Robin's stuff from the 80s, and that copy of Magnet. At the moment my tastes would probobly direct me to getting the later albums first. To add to your Mother Goose trance look up some vintage Sesame Street and Muppets. Off to play with my Robin doll, he's joing the cast of Doll House as Dr Gibb, but he's not a brain surgeon. http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u270/DollyKim/P1240244.jpg

Just in case anyone were to take any of what I said above DollyKim serious, please don't ! In a nutshell , I am asking for opinions on the lead vocalist and the instruments, if you happen to listen to the song I Don't Think It's Funny!?! Normally, I am not really into obsessing about myself (having to do with the Gibbs, welllll.......) and am not bossy  ! Thanks for the Sesame Street tip ;), Dolly! Thanks !

Honestly, I don't understand why there could be any doubt about who is singing lead on this song. Who would be able to imitate that special Robin voice quality and moreover, why should Barry want to do that? :P As to the accompaniment, however ... I haven't got a good ear for instruments. That does sound like a guitar to me, but I couldn't tell if it's more than one. :? Gabriele, it seemed pretty obvious to me, too. However Barry has so many different singing voices, that you just never know. But you do have a point about why he would want to sound like Robin. Bethany, I am no expert on instruments either. It does sound as if there is only one guitar (rhythm?). Have you come up for a new sleuthing mission for us now that this issue seems to be settled?
