Last summer Robin wrote and recorded an infectious new song called Alan Freeman Days, in honour of the late DJ. We will have release information about this recording for you in a few days. Infectious indeed... It's the long awaited, glorious return of Robin Gibb the songwriter.
The arrangements and vocals sparkle and enthrall.
An album with songs of this caliber would make many people extremely happy.

Hm, fascinating. Wish I could hear the whole song!

So far it is very promising: catchy tune, good vocals, gratitude for an individual who has made an impact on I suppose many music lover's lives (though i don't know Alan Freeman from before) ...which gives the tune a more existential and transcendental quality, political comment on radio and music business, nostalgia... Nostalgia is good. It involves some sort of sadness and yearning... a bridge to the other realities of life...

It depends on where you live, robin_rocks, and which download store you choose. Here in Germany I can't yet find it on iTunes either, but it's already on od2music. Whereas our lucky US friends can get it already since yesterday at amazon.com :lol:

It's Wednesday and still no sign of ALAN FREEMAN DAYS on iTunes, bit disappointing I am reluctantly holding out from buying on an America site because I have an iTunes account and would be easier to buy there. Does anyone know if it will be there later this week or is there a problem with the venture in the UK.

It's a delay. iTunes caught an audio error on one of the other tracks and their tech team are working on it now together with the distributor. They're trying to resolve this as soon as possible and once solved the album and thus AFD will be available in their stores.

What more can I say? It's a fantastic song. Thanks for the lyrics, too. I managed to download it from "Weltbild" on Monday, but it took me all day with all the registration business which did go wrong several times (it's only the second track I've bought as a download in my life) and I was getting really frustrated, but it was more than worth it in the end. If the new album is going to be anything like this, I'm really looking forward to it.

Love the Alan Freeman sample, wasn't expecting that, surely this should be in the top40 but sadly the charts these days are a bit dull!

We absolutely love Alan Freeman Days and would be very happy if Robin could write and record many many more new songs. It would be a good idea to perform the song at the Heritage Foundation Summer Ball. Please.

Alan Freeman days is the most uplifting, cathcy song I have heard in years. I hope it gets exposure on mainstream radio because a song like this deserves to go straight to number one. I really love everything about this song. It's catchy tune, the symbolic lyrics, Robin's vocals, and the insertion of Alan Freeman's voice to stir up the memories. I didn't know much about Alan Freeman until now although I had heard of him, and it's obvious Robin had great feelings for him. In many of the poignant lyrics I think Robin is also expressing his great emotion over Maurice and that makes this song so deeply touching and truly special. I treasure it.

Out of all the listed carriers in Sweden the majority doesn't offer any music downloads at all. iTunes Sweden is still a no show and CDON was a limited offering. I did find Alan Freeman Days on eMusic fortunately.

Alan Freeman days is great, but I have one question-- I had listened to the song posted on this site and it seems different from the one I just downloaded. Am I remembering correctly, or was the version on this site (or possibly My space) quite a bit different? I seem to recall a sampling of a piece of music intertwined throughout the song that is not on the Amazon version, which is more straight pop. Since the song is no longer posted in the members' section, and the My Space one is just a clip, I can't be sure. Anyone??

The one on youtube should be the proper version if they were different, try and compare.
