I've been a fan of your music all the way back to the 70s and love your harmonies. Also loved your Who do you think you are?' programme. Keep strong, hopeful and believe that you can get through this with your family by your side. I was a teenager in the 70s and part of the "disco sucks" crowd, and the Bee Gees were just an easy target in the rebellion against empty, flashy music. But listening to their music with a sophisticated ear, it's become impossible to not appreciate the melodic, sweetness, depth, nuanced, soulful music these men created.
Another thing that's so cool about them is the way they're all so proud of their music. Not at all in a haughty way, but like a humble enthusiasm and a real LOVE for music. It feels like they are fans too! It's so awesome to behold. I am grateful for the Bee Gees.

Well said Connie!! You have described my feelings on the Bee Gees music exactly. There is a quality like no other and something else apart from the wonderful music and songs they produce. There is a almost healing quality to their voices that radiates to the listener. Thats why whether you are in a good mood or feeling quite down at the time. We all come away after listening to a track from The Brothers with a really upbeat feeling that life is not so bad today!

Hi Robin

I'm not the typical person that writes in this foros , but this time I have decided change, because I want to share with you my Bee Gees story.

I'm not the typical fan of anything , either never I had posters in my room of my idols (well with the exception of my football team FC Barcelona :-))

But I always liked to enjoy listening good music.
Not only lisening Bee Gees , of course , but really, I can say that you are the band that has influenced me most.

I discovered you when I was teen , in the late 80's (with ESP album) and in the begining of 90's I was so lucky to see you live in Barcelona in your High Civilization tour.
I believe I discovered in your artistic maturity (less valued by the world than the disco era but in my opinion equals good)

Never were important to me if you arrive to number 1 in the charts or if the DJ played or not your singles in the radios.
in my opinion fame and fashion comes and goes, but good songs are timeless.

Actually you (and your brothers as well) you get hooked me all this years.
I don't know , if are the vocal harmonies, melodies , the rithms , or that I'm identify myself with many of the lyrics ...
It's like when you fall in love, you don't understand very well how it has happened but it happened.
Every song always manages to surprise me, and I never get bored listening.

Now, since long time ago, although I understand the reasons, I miss fresh air with new Bee Gees compositions.
you can take my suggestion when you have forces... ;-)

Also I want to share that the last year my friends gave me a guitar for my birthday.
I had never sung before really, but I decided to try.
first few chords, a whole song with just guitar.
and then guitar and sing at once. uhhh !!!
Well, I did it :-)

I was surprised myself, that the songs comes to me more easily than I expected.
I's possible that I have learned something during all this years just listen to you...?
Let's see if I have tried the wrong profession? ;-)

Just I wanted to say that the first song I sang was Massachusetts.
and the next time I sing it, I will dedicate to Robin Gibb, one of my 3 idols of my teenage years, and a great inspiration
and still...
