ladies,

yesterday i visited my grandfather's grave. my grandfather was father of my mum and he died in 1990, aged only 59.

i scanned for you an old picture, which shows my grandparents( parents of my mum), and me and my brother. the picture was made in 1988, when my brother celebrated his 4th birthday.
at that time my grandmother was 52 years young and my grandfather was 57 years young.

here i go with the picture:

my grandmother still lives, she's now 75 years young and is still good-looking lady....

That's a lovely family photo Martina. Your Grandfather was very young when he died wasn't he?. Had he been ill?.

yes, he was (young when he died).
he was ill, he died of a stroke.

That's very sad Martina to have a stroke at such a young age. xx

What a nice picture, Martina. My grandfather also died at 59, of a heart attack. I had just turned five then, I have only a few memories of him.

so sorry to here that, Gabriele. i was 8 years young, when my grandfather died . i remember of him, but not very clearly......

Martina, all your photos are lovely! I can recognize you too, from the photos in the church you posted earlier. Good memory for faces. You look lovely, I love your new short hair look! The old photo with your grandparents is sweet. My paternal Granddad died (he had cancer but died from something elce) aged 81, when I was eleven, and my brother only four. I remember him well, as he spent so much time with me, but, sadly, have forgotten his voice. I wish I had an audio recording of him to listen to. My brother doesn't remember him well at all, which is sad. My maternal Granddad died in 2005 aged 74, lung cancer. It saddens me that both of them are gone, but I am grateful for the time I had with them. My Grans are both alive and well, one is 82 the other 95. I'll post some photos too, soon, including old ones. Love, Tali.

Carol: That's a good point! No, I was not aware of my burn time, at that time, that's why I turned into a red lobster lol. I was just relaxing, I was lying there with my eyes closed, singing Bee Gees songs to myself, not caring who would hear, and the next thing I know I am a lobster! But, not the worst sunburn I ever had. I walked wit a backpack on my burned back and shoulders later. I said to my self: you are the one who wanted a suntan, well, now live with the consequences. Lol. No complaints there!

Karen: It was not that cold, you could go in for a few minutes at a time...and then come out and sun a bit, but then when you went back, the water was a bit cold again, so it took a bit of time to get used to it allover again. Apparently the water was warmer then usual this summer, usually it's so cold you can't swim in it, or even stand in it for long, that's what the locals say, anyway.

And here's the reveal: That' Georgian Bay, in Ontario, Canada, a few hours (about five?) drive from where I live. The water (fresh, not salty) is so blue and beautiful, it made me think of Robin, blue is our favourite colour, that's one of the things we share, Robin and I.
