Dear Robin and family, I'll be praying for you Robin, for your wife and family and for Barry and his family as I know this is going to be brutally hard on him also. THANK YOU so much for all the enjoyment you've brought me with your music. I'm going to watch my DVD of "One Night Only" that precious GEM of you, Barry and Mo all together in Vegas doing such a brilliant performance. I've watched it a 100 times and I'll watch it a 100 more. That video proved to me and to the world, that the Brother's Gibb, are in the top 5 musical and song writing and singing and performing acts of ALL TIME. I can't think of any musical act except perhaps the Beatles and Elvis and one or two others that have the song catalog and years of hit making power and depth and beauty as you and your precious brothers do. May God strengthen you, and give you peace and comfort in this time of need.

Dear, dear Robin,

Here I am again to wish you all the best ever possible.
I'll write you every day, because I'm oh so worried about you.
My husband and daughter have both survived cancer. Both are much younger than you. Please believe me....cancer doesn't have to kill you.
So...............there is hope for you too.
Please fight for your live!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am with you,

With love,

Bee

CMS, it is indeed going to be very hard on Barry and on their Mum should the worst happen but at the moment we have every reason to believe that Robin is hanging in very well at the moment.

Carolnz, Thanks for mentioning their Mum, I didn't mean to leave her out. Prayers for her too. I agree, Robin's done everything right for one in the "music business", a traditionally "unhealthy" business often. From all reports, Robin eats well, doesn't drink much if any, no smoking, etc. So, I agree, at a young 61 lets hope he gets the best medical care, best family support, best fan support and comes through the other side of this trial. Thanks again.

Hi Robin, just saw the news headlines... I am just so sad and feel so shattered... I consider him the love of my life and have not been the same since I first heard him sing... I want him to get well and hope he wins... Even my mom was concerned for his health... My heart is in my feet... I am trying to find the strength to tell my mom... :-(... We need devine intervention! I love you so much Robin that it does hurt.... My thoughts are with you and your family... This does not seem fair....

Robin, I'll just add one other note to THANK YOU for your charity work for the Bomber Command Memorial. As a former USMC aviator, it means a lot to me personally that you would honor those men (and women) and what they did as you so eloquently stated, "Not to glorify the horrors of war, but to remember, in order that no generation should ever have to endure again what took place in World War II." That truly makes you a "hero" also for recognizing the sacrifices those men (and women) made to preserve the entire European continent and world from tyranny and personally giving of your time to support them. So, Semper Fi from the USA for your fine efforts above and beyond your wonderful musical contributions.

Thanks Carol, Robin will fight for sure I know, but we'll have to support him as much as we can. I would have loved to support Michael Jackson aswell, but that was impossible, because he passed away so suddenly and unexpected. Now we have the chance to support Robin, who is, like Michael, also very important for many people around the world and the world itself.

Love,

Bee

I really hope we hear something from Robin soon confirming or denying this devastating news. The Latter, I hope. I just keep wandering where the press got wind of this though, they are like vultures! If Robin hasn't said anything about this, he has good reasons for doing so. They should have respect for him and his family, and not be spreading this on the high winds. I so hope to hear from him soon. They are forcing him to say something, sooner than he is ready to, I think, that's for sure. Unfortunately, for him and his family, his illness is fast becoming the "newest sensation that's gripping the nation". The press are having afield day! Shame On Them!

Dearest Robin, Take Time, Do What Is Best For You, Let Your Body Heal Through Your Strength, And Through All The Love That Surrounds You, We Are All With You! We Are All Strong Together! You Will Win This Battle! Though It Is Hard! You Are Strong! I Love You So Very Much My Friend! Be Well! Always!

Your Friend, Tali.

Yes I'm with you on that Taly, it amazes me how quickly the media pick up on these stories and then sensationalise them. It's such a personal thing for Robin and his family and as you said they are forcing him to say something before he is ready to. One of the papers over here said that Robin had confirmed that he had been receiving treatment for liver cancer since May. I don't know where that came from but seriously, when you saw him in July would you have thought that he'd been having 2 months of cancer treatment. It sure didn't look like it in the photos. xxx Carol

I agree about the press shocked, they are out of control mad.

Furthermore, as a fan, I would not pressure Robin. It is entirely up to him, whether or not he should decide to share personal health matters. Personally, I would rather keep my own to myself, and, although a public figure, it is his right to do the same smile. Just me.xx

As always, a CLASS ACT. Robin's statement to his fans, was as always; humble, classy, very refined, and thankful. In today's world of "phony", no-talent, made by industry so called "stars" the Gibb brothers have always shined as the quintessential "English" gentleman. A tribute to their mother and father. As I stated in my beginning post, I LOVE watching their performance at the MGM Grand on their DVD "One Night Only". For being MEGA super stars, the reality is the Bee Gees didn't tour live that much (relative to similar selling mega stars- their music was SO good, it sold itself), and were only filmed in concert a few times. The MGM Grand performance was, I believe, the pinnacle of capturing all 3 brothers together at their finest, even including singing to a video of Andy coordinated electronically into their set. But, every time I watch that DVD, one thing that comes across is how HUMBLE and truly thankful they appear to be for, and to their fans. They are PURE CLASS. So much of "entertainment" today is at the lowest common denominator, yet the Bee Gees have always maintained such a level of public decency and again (I have to use that same word) just traditional "class". From their public dress at events (usually suits and ties), to the way they speak when in public (refined, thankful, using a few well chosen words as opposed to blabbering on, etc), to their handling of private matters and even disputes- just a CLASS bunch of guys. I think even Barry got upset one time at some TV interviewer poking his nose into family business where it didn't belong, and when it reached the point where Barry had heard enough, he just calmly got up, said "interview over" and quietly walked off the stage. The media tried to play it as some BIG controversy, but I thought he handled it as a "gentleman" would- no anger, no cussing, just a quiet, simple nod to the interviewer that said, "You know, you went where we said not to go, so we're done. Goodbye and thank you.". So, Robin in this matter has maintained the Gibb standard of excellence. His statement was eloquent, full of heart felt genuine feelings (despite being a rather private and very personal matter) and he did it with grace. He even acknowledged that the 10,000's or millions of us can't truly "know him" but that through his music, in a special way he knows that we do "know him", he understands that, and is grateful for it. VERY WELL SAID ROBIN- God speed.

My sentiments exactly......I too have the "One Night Only" DVD and I absolutely love it. Every time I see it, it makes me wish that I could have had the opportunity to meet them. They look so extremely humble and nice.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of your illness, Robin...I have been a huge fan of you, Barry and Maurice since the beginning....your music has brought me much happiness over the years. Whenever I feel down, I just put on the One Night Only DVD, and I feel better. I was at the New Years Eve show in Florida in 1999. Great show!! I was sitting right behind the girls with the built-in PFD's....you probably remember them!!! I have so many fond memories of Bee Gee concerts...Toronto Massey Hall in 1969, Toronto Maple Leaf Gardens in 1976, and Florida... Thanks for the gift of your music and the joy it has brought me and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!!

Jane in Toronto XO
