I regret to inform you that you have lost your mind
You have finally given in to the unexpected forces, in your soul resigned
This letter arrives at your door too late, to save you from a lonely untimely fate
I hoped to avert the voices swirling through your head
Fend them off with loving counsel before you lie broken and dead
In this letter I hoped to save you and speak a supportive word
But for lack of courage, I left them forever unsaid
To haunt me until the end of my life
My failure to rescue you from the bitter stinging knife
I regret to inform you, I too have lost my mind
Unable to cope anymore in a world so cold, so unkind
I close my eyes and dream, hoping to awaken to find it was all a
nightmare, my imagination
In the morning, I regret to inform you I, too have succumbed to a fatal complication
