Beginning with one appearing in a recent article that I just can't get past  ! While speaking about not getting the long overdue  respect The Bee Gees most certainly deserve.....

8-) Nobody ever says, Mozart? That's so 1780s :!: 8-)

They might have in 1810 wink And in 2300, the Bee Gees might be considered classic by everyone, not just a few enlightened people laugh

I know it was on Youtube once, but I can't find it anymore. :? But I remember another Robin sentence from that show ... "Five quid and all the tea I can drink" when asked how much it would cost to have him photographed (or painted?) naked. laugh

One of my favourite Robinisms is "I'm an enigma wrapped up in a mystery" 8-) which I heard him say in a BBC interview.

Although anxious to see the MTV presentation, as we all love "Robinisms (fiction, or not)," sparki, I think your 5 quid would be more wisely spent wink by contributing to the Bomber Command Memorial laugh via the Heritage Foundation! Or, any one of Robin's other numerous  charities laugh .

In recent print, another quote attributed to the very wise one that we admire, as he was emphasizing his dedication to family, while admitting to "tantalising fiction" in the past:

8-) Life, he observes, is often more prosaic than rumour.......and people in the film and music industry are often perceived as larger than life. But the reality is pretty boring. Most of the time, real life is just sitting at home, as I'm doing now, enjoying a cup of tea. 8-)

So, sparki et al, not to dampen any enthusiasm  , there is still the sitting down and buying them numerous cups of tea option wink , all the while soaking up all that Murphy/Gibb wisdom!

They set a fine example of a family that learns and grows in addition to giving of their immense combined talents 8-) laugh !

P.S. Back to edit  ! Perhaps, Dwina could sketch her beloved (or both 8-) laugh ), in full pin stripes and blue tie, no airbrushing, for charitable purposes! Even if the original were out of our reach, its rightful place would be in the National Portrait Gallery, perhaps, there would be the typical artistic greeting card copies  !?!

Sparki, maybe you better find out first whether the price still counts ... everything is getting more and more expensive. :P

Bethany, a portrait of Robin for charitable purposes is a great idea indeed ... and maybe Robin could even do it himself, as he has already given proof of before ... laugh

Another Robinism ...
"I think thatīs human nature that when we get something we want, we wanna keep getting it."

Sparki, maybe you should negotiate a subscription. wink

Here's one that I especially like:

"The real world was just too real, and we didn't want to be a part of normal life. We wanted to create a magical world for the three of us. "

I've always especially liked this one because in creating a magical world for themselves, they made magic for us!!! wink laugh

This thread is just totally awesome! laugh laugh laugh

Whenever I have *Robin Gibb Live* playing (which is usually daily lol), I have to replay one part about 20 times before I can go on. It's the part where Robin is talking to the audience and he says, "Thank you, Spain!" (because of a cool sign some fans had)....and then he tilts his head, grins, raises his eyebrows, and points and says, "Espana!" I JUST LOVE THAT!!!!!!!!

Ok, Bethany, for the National Portrait Gallery version Robin should maybe elaborate a little on his style wink ... although I find this selfportrait strikingly resembling: very slender figure, few hair, long hands and feet ... laugh

I guess if he added a blue tie :? ?

From the "Talking Shop" article on RAF Bomber Command Memorial:

8-) Growing up these people were heroes to me. They were seen as the guys who won the war, and the war had to be won. Our backs were against the wall and we could have been occupied any day in this country. And these guys risked their lives. 8-)
